Joyce Slate Triche --- Director/Instructor:

EDUCATION - 10 years dance training at Dorminy Studios, including leading roles in Ballet
Guild  Productions of
Blue God and Giselle , BFA degree in Ballet from Texas Christian
University with minor in Theatre, performed in
Sleeping Beauty,Kaleidoscope, Brigadoon and
Skin of Your Teeth, stage manager for Hamlet, and numerous technical crews. Member of
Dance Masters of America, Inc. certified  by test to teach Ballet, Tap, Acrobatics, Jazz and
Modern and holds a continuing education certification from Dance Masters of America, Inc by
taking required number of hours of masters classes each year. Mrs. Triche attended State
Convention of Carolina Dance Masters Chapter #15 and Winter Convention in 2018-2019. She
has completed four years of Teacher Training School of Dance Masters of America, Inc. held
in Buffalo, NY 2008 - 2011, graduating in 2011. She has taken post graduate work at Teachers
Training School completing a Masters in Ballet Dance Education in 2019.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE - over 45 years of teaching experience including: NC Dept. of
Public Instruction Arts Enrichment Program, Ft. Worth, Texas Parks & Rec. Dept. Mt. Airy
Fine Arts Carnival, W-S YWCA, Dorminy Studios,  workshops for preschool children for
Stokes County Arts Council, Master Classes for teachers in Children's Work for Carolina
Dance Masters, Inc., director and primary instructor for Miss Joyce's Dance Studio since 1970

DANCE and BUSINESS ASSOCIATIONS - Member of Dance Masters of America, Inc.
since 1972,  having served Carolina Dance Masters Chapter #15 as a member of the board of
directors for five terms  - Director of Performing Arts Competition,  Co-Chair of Solo Title
Scholarship Competition, Election Committee Chairman and certified chapter examiner for
Ballet, Tap, Acrobatics, Jazz and Modern exams.
Member of King Chamber of Commerce
Named Business Leader of the year - 2009 by the King Chamber of Commerce.
Serving on the advisory committee for the entrepreneurship associate degree program at
Forsyth Tech.

FAMILY: Mrs. Triche lives in Walnut Cove. She is married to Ward Triche and they have two
children and three grandchildren. They are active in Stokesburg United Methodist Church.
Susan Shelton - Vocal Instructor

EDUCATION - UNC-G  degree in Early Childhood Education, music and voice training

TEACHING EXPERIENCE - Susan has been Choir director at Pinnacle View Baptist
Church Adult Choir for 18 years. She has also held numerous other positions in the church
for 25 years, including teacher and youth leader.
Susan has taught the vocal  section of Musical Theatre class at Miss Joyce's Dance Studio
since 2005. Susan began her teaching career in public education in 1990 at Shoals
Elementary  in Surry County. She has since worked in a wide variety of grade levels and
subject areas. Most recently as a  kindergarten teacher, having taught for eleven years at
Mount Olive Elementary. Susan has traveled to South Africa and Haiti to sing, teach and
learn from both children and adults in an exchange of music, culture and faith.

PERFORMING - Sang with UNC-G's Woman's choir, Elkin Community Chorus and Vocé
appeared in the Surry County Arts Council's production of
Sound of Music July 2005

FAMILY: Susan is married to Darrell Shelton. They live in King and have one daughter.
Jesse Morris - Jazz Instructor

EDUCATION - 14 years of dance training at various studios in south Florida focusing on jazz
and ballet, 7 years dance training at Miss Joyce's Dance Studio,  teacher level master classes at
Carolina Dance Masters convention for 6 years, licensed to teach Zumba,  teacher training at
Miss Joyce's Dance Studio. In October 2014 she passed her jazz examination for Dance
Masters of America, Inc. In November of 2014, she was obligated and became a member of
Dance Masters of America, Inc and Carolina Dance Masters, Inc.
Jesse is certified by test to teach jazz. In July of 2016, she attended Dance Masters of
America,Inc. Teachers Training School at Buffalo, NY. There she took over 50 hours of classes
in ballet, tap, jazz and modern. She received high scores on her level one evaluations.
She attended Carolina Dance Masters, Inc. Fall Convention and Winter Workshop in 2018
and holds a continuing education certificate from Dance Masters of America, Inc.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE - assistant jazz instructor and substitute teacher at Miss Joyce's for
2 years. The contemporary group number,
Within, which she choreographed and taught, won 3rd
place overall senior recreational group at the CDM Performing Arts Competition  in 2014. The
contemporary solo,
Figure Eight which she choreographed won second place senior recreational
solo at the CDM Performing Arts Competition in 2016.  This is her fifth year as jazz instructor
for Miss Joyce's Dance Studio

PERFORMING - Jesse has performed in numerous dance recitals, at the Stokes Stomp,and in  
parades. She danced in a  theatre production of
West Side Story and in dinner shows Manhattan
and Hollywood Escapades

Jesse is married to Roger Morris. They live in Rural Hall and have two daughters.
Jordan Turpin Collins- Assistant Acrobatics Instructor

EDUCATION - Jordan had 14 years of dance training at Miss Joyce's Dance Studio including
acrobatics and jazz.  She is currently attending Surry Community College with a major in
Pre-Physical Therapy and would like to pursue a dance minor.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE - Jordan was junior counselor at Dance Day Camp at Miss
Joyce's Dance Studio during high school. During 2018-19 Jordan assisted with spotting,
leading warm up, demonstrating skills and substitute teaching for three acrobatics classes per
week. This is Jordan's fifth year as acrobatics assistant.

PERFORMING - Jordan has performed in numerous dance recitals and parades. She has
competed with acrobatics and jazz groups at Carolina Dance Masters, Inc. Performing Arts
Competition, Tri-State Dance Contest and Marvonna Dance Competition.
